Terms of service

Bullet Hero is free to play for personal, non-commercial use. You must be at least 13 years old. The game and the site are provided as is, and you are responsible for the levels you make and share

These terms are the agreement between you and the developer for the game, the website and the game's Discord integration. What happens to your data is described separately - Game privacy policy for the game and Privacy policy for the site

Accepting these terms

By installing or using the game, using the site or allowing the game to show your activity on Discord, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the game, the site or the integration

You must be at least 13 years old, and at least the minimum age set by your country for using online services without a parent's consent. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf

Using the game

The developer gives you a personal, free, non-exclusive, revocable right to install and play Bullet Hero for non-commercial purposes. The game itself is not open source: the developer keeps all rights to it, its code, art, music and name

You may not:

• sell the game, charge for access to it or include it in a paid product
• distribute modified builds of the game, or present any build as official when it is not
• remove or change the game's copyright or license notices
• use the game to break the law or to harm other people, their devices or their data

Official builds are published only in bullet-hero/releases and in the stores listed on Download. A link to them can be shared freely

The level and save format is open: it lives in bullet-hero/sdk and is distributed under the license stated there. Writing your own tools, generators and servers with the SDK is allowed and welcome

Levels and other content you make

You keep the rights to what you create. Levels are licensed as described in Licensing policy for user levels: every level is distributed under CC BY-NC, and every external resource in it needs an accepted license or the author's permission

You are responsible for what you put into a level and for where you share it. A level must not contain:

• music, images, fonts or other works you have no right to use
• illegal content, or content that harasses, threatens or exposes a real person
• code meant to damage a device, steal data or get around the game's limits
• someone else's personal data without their consent

The developer does not review levels shared outside the official services and is not responsible for them. Levels you get from other people are opened at your own risk

Discord integration

When the Discord app is running on the same computer, the game can show your current activity in your Discord profile (Discord Rich Presence), for example the menu you are in or the level you are playing

• The game talks only to the Discord client on your device. Discord then publishes the activity under your Discord account
• The developer receives nothing from Discord through this integration and stores no Discord data
• You can hide your activity at any time in Discord: User Settings -> Activity Privacy
• Your use of Discord itself is governed by the Discord Terms of Service and the Discord Privacy Policy

The integration does not ask you to sign in, does not read your messages, servers or friends list, and sends no messages on your behalf

Third-party services

The game is also distributed through stores and works with services run by other companies (Google Play, the App Store, Steam, Discord and others). Their own terms apply to what you do there, in addition to these terms. If their terms and these terms conflict for something done on their service, theirs win

The website

The site is free to read. Its pages are written in the open repository bullet-hero/docs, and anyone can suggest a change there. The site may contain mistakes or describe a version of the game different from yours

Do not try to disrupt the site, overload it or get access to anything that is not published on it

No warranty

The game, the site and the integration are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty, express or implied, to the extent the law allows. The developer does not promise that they are free of bugs, always available or suitable for any particular purpose

Back up the levels you care about. A level can be lost to a bug, a format change or a broken device, and the developer cannot restore it

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any indirect or consequential damage, lost data, lost profit or other loss arising from the use of the game, the site or the integration, or from the inability to use them. The game is free, so the developer's total liability to you is limited to zero

Nothing in these terms limits the rights a consumer has under the mandatory laws of their country

Ending

You can stop using the game, the site and the integration at any time: uninstall the game and turn off activity sharing in Discord

The developer may stop developing or distributing the game, the site or the integration at any time, and may withdraw the right to use them from anyone who breaks these terms

Changes to these terms

These terms will change when the game does, most likely when the game's own server and player accounts appear. When they change, the effective date and the version at the top of this page are updated, and the previous text stays in the public history of this page. Continuing to use the game after a change means you accept the updated terms

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Russian Federation. A dispute is first settled by negotiation: write to the contact address above. If that fails, the dispute goes to a court determined under the law of the Russian Federation
